Can you wash my SUV/pickup truck?
At Autosheen, we wash most SUV's and trucks up to 79 inches tall. Our wash tunnel does not accommodate any trucks with dual wheels, vehicles with certain roof racks, vehicles with snow plows, or vehicles with wheels that exceed 12 inches in width. However, we can hand wash ALL of these. As a courtesy to others, all pickup truck beds must be clean and free from debris of any kind. Whenever possible, our Team members will assist you in cleaning out the truck bed before you wash.
Can you wash my convertible?
Yes, as long as your convertible top is not damaged and is correctly closed and properly latched, it can be washed like any other vehicle.
Can you wash a newly painted car?
Before a newly painted car can be washed, the new paint must first cure. The facility that painted the car should provide you with the technical details as to the cure time for your particular paint finish. As long as the new paint has properly cured, it is completely safe to wash it. Ask us about our detailing services that will keep your new paint looking new!
What's the biggest car or truck that you can wash?
At Autosheen, we wash most passenger cars, vans, SUV's and trucks up to 79 inches tall. In our Wash Tunnel, we cannot wash trucks with dual wheels, trucks with certain racks, trucks with snow plows, or trucks and cars with wheels that exceed 12 inches in width. Will my antenna be okay?
It is safe to wash vehicles with factory installed antennas as long as these antennas have not been damaged or loosened. Typically, as a precaution, we ask all guests to remove any after-market antennas (example CB, Cell Phone, GPS, Satellite radio) before washing. If you own a vehicle which is equipped with a power antenna and the power antenna does not retract, it may get caught in the cloth and bend. For that reason, you must make sure that your power antenna is working properly and retracts completely before allowing the car to be washed. Our Team members are happy to answer most questions regarding power antennas.
Will my license plate be okay?
All license plates should be in good condition, affixed properly, with ALL screws firmly tightened. If a license plate is not in good condition, is missing screws, or has any pre-existing damage or wear, we suggest that you remove it before you wash. Because after market plastic license plates are not manufactured to any standard, we do not recommend you install these on your vehicle if you intend to wash.
Will my bug-shield be okay?
Most bug shields are not manufactured according to any uniform standard and tested for washing in an automatic car wash tunnel. Many bug shields are made of low-grade plastics that deteriorate quickly and damage too easily. Many bug shields contain defects or hard-to-detect stress cracks and chips especially near or around the installation hardware. Many bug shields will react to the change in temperature and crack. Although we have washed many vehicles with bug shields without incident, we are not responsible for any bug shields that break. We recommend bug shields made with LEXAN which is an extremely durable, long-lasting, and virtually indestructible type of product. However, it must be installed by a professional shop.
Will my side mirrors be okay?
Factory installed side mirrors are completely safe as long as they are in proper working order and do not have any pre-existing damage.
Will my alloy wheels or custom rims be okay?
Most automobile manufacturers provided polished aluminum wheels and they recommend that you avoid cleaning with solutions that contain any acids as they can become stained. We do not use any acid or acid-based cleaning solutions. Because custom rims are an after-market item not tested for use at a car wash, we cannot be responsible for damage caused to custom wheels or wheel covers.
Will my cracked windshield be okay?
We recommend that you repair or replace damaged windshields before you wash. The reason for this is simple: even a hard to detect chip will distress the glass surface and cause the glass to react to severe changes in temperatures. For example, if your windshield contains a hairline crack and you wash it on a hot day, the cracks and chips can expand from the change in temperature during the wash process.
Are valuables in my vehicle okay?
We ask that you do not leave ANY valuables in your vehicle. If you are concerned about anything that is left in your vehicle, please remove it before turning it over to our Team Members.
Can you remove tar from the exterior?
Tar is very hard solvent that sticks to the surface of the car and dries. The car wash process which uses mild soap and water will not remove tar from your paint surface. Our Team Members will check your vehicle for tar after the wash. They are trained and have the correct products to remove minimal quantities of tar. If your vehicle has significant amounts of tar, our Team Members will direct you to our detailing department and will provide you with an estimate for tar removal.
Can you remove tree sap from the exterior?
Tree sap can adhere to the paint surface of a vehicle and become almost impossible to remove. The soap and water wash is too gentle to remove tree sap. Our Team Members will direct you to our detailing department who has the proper products to remove tree sap. Our Detailing Department will provide you with an estimate for Tree Sap removal.
Can you remove overspray paint from the exterior?
Over Spray paint can bond to the paint surface of your vehicle and become almost impossible to remove. The soap and water wash is too gentle to remove over spray paint. Our Team Members will direct you to our detailing department who has the proper products and equipment to remove over spray paint. Our Detailing Department will provide you with an estimate for Over Spray Paint removal.
Can you remove disc brake dust?
Disc Brake Dust, if not removed regularly from the rims, will become etched and will be impossible to remove in our gentle soap and water wash. If you wash your car regularly, you will notice that our car washes are equipped with high pressure equipment that "blast" the rims with high pressure water and remove brake dust that is not etched to the rims. Our Team Members will direct you to our detailing department who has the proper products and equipment to remove over brake dust that is etched to the rims. Our Detailing Department will provide you with an estimate for etched break dust removal.
Can you remove pet hair from the interior?
If you purchase any of our wash packages that include interior vacuuming, our Team Members will do their absolute best to vacuum pet hair from the interior. Depending on the type of pet that you have and the quantity of pet hair, it may be necessary to add a detail service to remove pet hair and other elements from headliners, seating, door panels etc. Our Detailing Department will provide you with an estimate for pet hair removal.
How do I get started when I arrive ?
Enter the driveway lane marked WASH & STOP at the designated STOP SIGN. You will be greeted by one of our Team Members who will direct you on how to wash. Our Team Member will also answer any questions that you may have regarding any specials or any value Wash Packages.
When do I get out of my vehicle ?
Follow these procedures:
- Place vehicle in park position.
- Unlock all doors.
- Retract power antenna (Radio Off).
- Close windows and sun roofs.
- Disarm any car alarm.
- Turn engine off.
- Leave your keys in the ignition.
- Remove any valuables.
- Place your order with our Team Member.
- Take ticket to Cashier.
- You will be notified when your vehicle is ready.
- Drive away safely in your sparkling clean vehicle.
Will you clean the inside too ?
Unless you purchase an exterior service, your vehicle will be thoroughly vacuumed, the dash will be wiped, ash trays emptied and interior windows cleaned. Our car washes offer the VIP wash package. This service will take a little longer than the other interior packages but is a mini detailing of the interior that will leave you smiling! All nooks and crannies of the interior will be cleaned with a detail brush and a detail air gun. Dressing will be applied to the dash and console. Your floor mats will be shampooed.
How much time will the wash take ?
The average wash time is approximately 15 - 20 minutes during normal periods a little longer than that during peak periods. Our goal at Autosheen is to minimize your wait time without compromising the quality of the car wash service you have come to expect. So if we take a minute or two longer, please be patient. We are just trying to provide the kind of quality everyone has come to expect from Autosheen.
Is Autosheen touchless or brushless ?
At Autosheen, we only use soft cloth to wash vehicle surfaces. The wash system we use, combined with our soft cloth and eco friendly wash solutions, have been engineered to wash vehicles safely.
Are your cleaning products safe?
At Autosheen, only eco friendly wash solutions are used. These are safe and approved by nearly all of the new car manufacturers. We never use any caustic or acid-based chemicals. Instead, we only use gentle soaps, liquid waxes, and paint protectant. The wash tunnel is controlled by a computer that applies only the correct amount of solution to each car. Studies have been conducted by car manufacturers proving that the type of wash process we use is safer than even hand washing and unlike hand washing, the type of process we use does not discharge water into the environment.
